Technical Sales Engineer

About the opportunity:
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Technical Sales Engineer to join our team, where you will play a pivotal role in developing complex automation solutions and proposals for a diverse and multinational customer base. This role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge technologies while collaborating with both internal teams and global clients.
As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will work closely with our Sales Manager and Key Account Managers to deliver competitive, customised solutions. By interacting with internal engineering teams and deeply understanding our customers’ unique needs, you’ll transform these insights into tailored, accurate proposals that drive success.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Production) to create bespoke automation solutions for customers.
- Engage with customers to gain a deep understanding of their manufacturing challenges and identify the ideal solutions.
- Qualify incoming sales inquiries to ensure alignment with our business goals.
- Develop accurate, detailed and competitive proposals for automation solutions.
- Present proposals to customers, discussing each element of the solution and addressing any questions.
- Provide seamless commercial handovers to internal teams for project execution.
- Build and maintain long-lasting relationships with customers, identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling
- Occasional travel may be required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (BEng/BSc) in Engineering or a related field (Level 8).
- 1-2+ years of experience in a technical sales or engineering role, preferably in an automation or production environment.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor / SolidWorks (advantageous).
- Prior exposure to working directly with customers (advantageous).
