Sales Director
Location: Shannon, Co. Clare
Overview:
This leadership role reports directly to the CEO, with overall responsibility for driving business growth, market expansion, and customer engagement.
The Sales Director will develop and execute strategic initiatives that grow customer wallet share, particularly within the medical device manufacturing sector in both Ireland and the US.
The role requires a proven track record in strategic business development, customer relationship management, market analysis, and sales leadership. As a key member of the leadership team, you will collaborate across the company to expand market share, develop new customer relationships, and identify new revenue-generating opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Customer Relationship Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Business Development team to achieve sales performance targets.
- Foster and nurture strong relationships with existing customers to drive repeat business, while attracting new key strategic clients.
- Ensure the highest standards of customer experience and satisfaction, acting as a key contact for significant customers and partners.
Strategic Business Development
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive business development strategies that align with company goals and industry trends.
- Identify, assess, and prioritise growth opportunities, new markets, and strategic partnerships, and lead initiatives to capture these opportunities.
Collaboration and Internal Coordination
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and project management teams to ensure seamless customer onboarding and project handovers.
- Coordinate with the engineering and technical leadership to ensure alignment between customer needs and innovative solutions.
Financial and Performance Accountability
- Work closely with the CEO and CFO to establish sales performance metrics in alignment with business goals and regularly report progress to senior leadership.
- Manage and track business development budgets, ensuring optimal use of resources and ROI.
Leadership and Mentorship
- Inspire and lead by example, fostering a culture of innovation, integrity, collaboration, and excellence within the business development function.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or customer relationship management, with at least 5 years at a senior management level.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Experience in B2B sales, preferably with exposure to Med-device manufacturing or high-tech industry sectors.
